EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based trauma therapy that helps reduce the emotional impact of distressing or traumatic experiences. It is strongly recommended for PTSD and can also support people experiencing anxiety, fear, distressing memories, relationship or attachment trauma, and other difficult life experiences.
EMDR helps the brain process memories that may feel “stuck,” allowing them to become less emotionally overwhelming. Treatment is guided by a trained therapist and may include bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements or other left-to-right sensory techniques.
At Healing Haven Counselling, EMDR is offered in a safe, supportive and trauma-informed environment, with treatment tailored to each individual’s needs.
